The Village and Local Areas of interest

Wolf House Cottages are located a 10 minute from the centre of Silverdale in the hamlet of Gibraltar.

On your doorstep you will find The Wolf House Gallery occupied by artists Janice Macgloine and her daughter who produce original and unique artwork.

Just across from the gallery is Wolf House Gallery Cafe, run by Ed and Jenny which has built up a very good reputation based on serving genuine homemade cakes, light meals and good coffee.

A 10 minute walk will take you to all the village amenities which include: 2 pubs; an Indian restaurant; a butchers shop; a chemist; a Co-op supermarket; a newsagents; two churches; a fish van on Wednesday mornings! There is a well maintained golf course which is 2 miles from the centre. The club also serves meals.

Situated within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) on the edge of Morecambe Bay, there are numerous walks from the cottages taking you through mixed woodland, low lying hills, limestone pavements and along coastal paths.  Jenny Brown`s Point, Trowbarrow, Eaves Wood and the Pepper Pot, and Arnside Knott are all on the doorstep.

You can walk or cycle from the cottages to the RSPB Reserve at Leighton Moss which is very nearby as is the historic home of the Gillow family at Leighton Hall

Silverdale train station is 2 miles away with links to Carnforth, Historic Lancaster and Manchester to the south and Arnside, Grange, Barrow and Carlisle to the North. There is a regular shuttle bus service to the station with pick up points throughout the village
