The Old Cottage
The Old Cottage is the smaller of our Morecambe Bay holiday properties and it sleeps up to 4 people (with an additional small bunk bedroom for 2 young children). It has great character and was the original farmhouse. It has thick limestone walls and oak beams in the lounge. It is covered in flowering creepers from May to September.
The Cottage kitchen was completely refurbished in February 2015 and now incorporates French windows that open out into the garden and patio seating area.
The garden room leading from the lounge has been much appreciated by all our guests. It has a slate roof and therefore never becomes too hot or too cold. Here you can dine, listen to music, or just relax. Song birds such as whitethroat, garden warbler and linnet are also frequent visitors. Aspiring artists have found inspiration from the views over the fields to the woods beyond and the perfect location for a Morecambe Bay holiday.

Lovely welcome from the owner Denise, cottage well equipped, Christmas decorations up for our New Year stay and beautiful first floor lounge with cosy log burner - a perfect spot to admire the stunning views and sunsets. Nice little cafe & gallery next door and lots of walks right on the doorstep. Would love to return in the summer to take advantage of the pretty outside terrace. Would thoroughly recommend. Read Less

The cottage is warm and characterful , with wonderful paintings and pottery, an abundant supply of books, comfortable beds and an excellent kitchen. The garden room was a particularly lovely place to while away our time, watching the birds and deer that visited the field beyond the garden. The location is superb, with so many walks locally we hardly used the car. It was a pleasure to meet the owner, Denise , and we do hope to return soon . Read Less

Read MoreA very warm and friendly welcome from Denise and Rachel - they were very helpful and kind and were keen to ensure we had a wonderful holiday. The cottage is in a fabulous location in a really delightful area - all so quiet and calming. The views are lovely and there are lots of local walks in all directions. Plus lots of interesting places to visit nearby. There is a great café next door serving excellent coffee and delicious food - plus a very nice gallery. The adjacent farm sells fresh free range eggs and amazing fresh raw milk. We had a very easy and relaxing time and were able to really rest and restore. Thank you. Read Less
